Bucks County, with easy access to Philadelphia and New York City, is known for its scenic towns and beautiful homes. The area around New Hope, a town with a rich artistic history, also has many modernist homes. In the historic town of Washington Crossing, there are several mid-century homes designed by Thaddeus Longstreth. Early in his career Longstreth worked with Richard Neutra and this influence is visible in his architectural designs. Doylestown is the Bucks County seat and it also has a rich architectural history. The modern architect Frank Schlesinger designed and built an award winning home for his family here.
