Montgomery County is home to some of the finest suburban homes in the Philadelphia area. In the 1940s, Louis Kahn and Kenneth Day designed mid-century modern homes in Whitemarsh Township. During the 1950s and 1960s growth period, mid-century and modern homes were designed and constructed throughout the county, including the Cheltenham and Abington sections. Louis Kahn's Fisher House, featured in the movie "My Architect", is located in Hatboro. Other modernist homes can be found throughout Huntingdon Valley.
